bubble-wrap mania!
By fake - Permalink
about my prior bubble-wrap freak-out: kids, bubble wrap is addictive! don't start playing with it, or you'll end up like this:
(or maybe it's the years of java coding? ;)
at work, our collective thinkgeek order was submitted today - it summed up to over 700 USD ... i hope they people i ordered for pay in time ... i submitted a mod_jk2 package today, which i am very glad to have. work went very smooth today, and i got quite some stuff finished, though i lacked concentration a bit at later hours.
once i got 'home', i was annoyed again by the soekris detecting my presence and instantly disconnecting... grrr. i installed syslogd and klogd and i think i found the problem. the ip_conntrack table was overflowing - i read the size from /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_conntrack_max, and echo'ed the doubled value back in there. no more complaints. while i was at it, i installed dhcpd with some static hosts and named them with bind, allowing transfers over the vpn and registering the 'main' slave zone (the vpn i mentioned yesterday has an own DNS system ;). now the connection seems much more stable. also the loopback interface wasn't set up, so i fixed that, too. clifford's little home network slowly migrates to something really useable ;)
tomorrow at 10:00 the one 'testing' month at work will be over - that means my contract is now a limited contract for 3 months, after that it'll become an unlimited contract (if i don't get fired tomorrow morning during business breakfast, which starts at 9:00 ;-)
oh, yes, my business cards arrived today, with my gpg fingerprint on them! really sexy. remember me to hand you one when we meet in person. now i'm gonna do my laundry, get a beer and watch more gilmore girls ;-))
